SoundScreen windshields were not available in 2001. Just like "Super Duty" logo windshields were not available in 2001 either. To get the "Super Duty" logo, one has to do as Trey (A/Ox4) did and pretend one has a 2005. Likewise, to get the SoundScreen, one has to pretend one has a 2014. The windshields from model years 1999 through 2016 will interchange.
I did not realize that all the way to 2016 the windows were interchangeable.

I still think the 2005 thing is wrong. I got my 2003 replaced with a super duty logo. Guy came out to my driveway. They used the vin and I also had a choice between the OEM glass or aftermarket. I chose OEM glass and it came with Super Duty on it.

I asked the dealer for a part number just to make sure I got the correct glass and the new dealer said the straight clear glass that came with my 01 is no longer made. Just the superduty logo version. So it might make sense for ford to have combined part numbers from 99 through 2011 or 21 when ever sound screen came out. Perhaps the blue oval does not think sound screen helps the older version trucks thus they still make a non sound screen version.

The SUPERDUTY branding started in 2005. But they're interchangeable, so Ford probably stopped making the unbranded ones and just updated parts numbers. That happens pretty often. If you had ordered an OEM windshield prior to 2005 you would have gotten a blank one
I had a new windshield finally installed. Been cracked a few years. Only costed $243 out the door. If it needs replaced again within a year it’s only $75! I went aftermarket and saved $70-80. That was the original windshield so I’m happy there wasn’t too much rust underneath. Attaching a few pics. Windshield removed. Windshield removed different New glass installed!
