Hey guys what are you running for tires? I’m looking for something that is good in snow but still be all season and not have huge lugs. I have the 245/75r16. Thanks guys.

Is that size for the Off Road Package? That's what I have and believe the size of tire that is on it. I'm pretty dead set on these for my next set:

Out of curiosity do your current tires rub at full lock? Mine do and it has bugged me since I bought the damn thing in 2002.

these are the tires I just put on my truck. I have LT tires on mine, but they also make a standard tire. I was surprised they were as quiet as they were. I also have the same size rim as you.

I also just installed Falkens on my 2001, but I have 225/70 R15. Got them on Amazon ($78 ea.), installed by Sears ($15 ea). This was the best deal I found after shopping all the local tire companies.

I live in Norway and i've been driving in all kinds of weather, i've tried alot of different tires and i can tell you from experience that there is no good all season tire, you will be making compromises.
That being said a all terrain would be your best shot, preferably something that's had a design update recently.

At the suggestions of multiple guys on the old Motor Week forum, I'm running Michelin LTX M/S in the factory specified 225/70/15 size, on my 99 4.0L 4dr with the 5R55E tranny & Payload Package-2 & Tow package.

Wet traction is Way better than the Firestones it was delivered with & so is the ride & handling when towing the Bass Tracker in the Blue Ridge Mtn. twisties. No problems on wet boat ramps when launching or retrieving the 175 Tracker.
I haven't tried driving it in snow, as I know it would likely be a problem without a couple hundred pounds in the bed over the rear wheels.

Wear has been even & the sidewalls have held up just fine from dryrot cracking. Only difference I've noticed is there is a brief low speed tread hum speed range they go through just before coming to a stop on some road surfaces, not really objectionable, just there on my Ranger.

I caught these on sale some years back at Tire Rack for $72 US ea & even with shipping & having my local garage mount, & balance, it was well over $100 less than any other tire place would quote on the same tire.
It didn't take much weight to balance each of them & they've remained in balance. Belt alignment was spot on & the splices were even & smooth, so build execution was spot on for my set of 4.

The Motor Week forum guys were right, they were a Big improvement over the Firestones that were down right dangerous on a wet road. Firestone ride & non towing handling was ok & the wear was too.

I'm not a Michelin fan boy, but these LTX M & S have been excellent & have done everything I've ask of them over the years & they sit outside year round.

So if you can catch them on sale, maybe jump on them like a duck on a June bug, as I did years ago.

pick your tires based on the driving conditions you will be having. check the ratings and specs and pick a tire best for your conditions.

I picked my tires mainly because I am going to be doing a lot of towing over the next year and also a lot of loose sand (moving next to a desert). I will be seeing almost no snow.

i ran firestone destination a/t's on my '97 which were very good but when it came time to replace tires on the '02 they got too pricey.
i ended up with P245 75 16 kumho road venture at51's and very happy with the the performance in wet, dry, and snow. been on for 2 years and
wear is also good.
