On average how many miles do you get with 5 gals of DEF ?
4,250 miles, +/- 250 miles. I've had 2 refills so far and they've been eerily similar to one another in terms of miles driven.
I was towing quite a bit during these 9,000-ish miles. I won't tow a bit during the winter. So, we'll see if there's any difference to my DEF consumption.

Like another member posted, about 1000 miles per 1 gallon of DEF while not towing. I add 2 1/2 gallons every 2500 miles when the DEF shows about 1/2 tank. It is also my reminder to check the water separator.
Same here. Walmart can't hardly keep this stuff in stock around here. I would love to see an environmental trade-off analysis done between untreated diesel exhaust and the manufacture, storage, and transport of DEF (including the manufacture and disposal of the massively thick plastic containers).

Just like these zero emissions vehicles.......How many fossil fuels were burnt to charge your car? How many extra emissions were created to make your vehicle?

I record 600-800 miles per gallon of DEF around town and regular highway, 1,600 miles per gallon of DEF while hauling a 14K lb fifth wheel at highways speeds.
I "mail order" Ford/Motorcraft DEF. I've heard about some finger pointing to DEF contributing to a failure. The Motorcraft DEF is pricey, but I don't use a lot and don't care for hassles with service writer.
I use about 1 gallon/1000 miles +/-...so maybe 6 gallons per year for me.
My son-in-law, on their first camping trip with the family, filled up with DEF at a truck stop. A few miles down the road, and they were getting the check engine light and were going to be in limp mode shortly. They made it to a campground close by, and took the truck to a dealer. The verdict was bad DEF. And so soon after hitting the road! Clearly, not all truck stops can be trusted for DEF.
