Wow! 4 bucks is a little high for me. I think I saw a set on the Westin page for like 199. Have to install them myself but thats okay. Did you buy your truck at SMF? I bought the wifes Windstar there and haven't been at all happy with the service. Bought my truck at Laird Noller in Lawrence. I go to Bob Allen for service. I heard Marcus Allen is opening another on Metcalf, the Pete Franklin spot.

This is the first set of "steps" I've ever had on a truck and I've had F250's for 20 years. One of the things that impressed me about these pipes is that they are made to fit in existing frame holes. Also, I've had bad experiences with some non-OEM chrome products before where the chrome peeled or pitted. I wasn't thrilled with the price, but I am happy with the quality. I bought the truck through Enterprise Lease and all our vehicles come through Bob Allen. I use Shawnee Mission Ford for service out of convenience.

Hell if we wanted to make it bigger we could include the users from Nebraska and Iowa, They don't have forums either
btw- I am up in Merriam.
Torque1st, I was curious as to how the chapters were established. Does it take a certain number of members from the state to constitute a chapter? I never posted down here before simply because there wasn't a "Kansas" chapter. Here in the "Metro" area we share so many things with our friends from Missouri: sports, entertainment, dining, and a lot of us work on both sides of the state line. It would be cool to have a "Kansas" chapter only because the more you narrow down the geographic area, the more you have in common with your fellow charter members.
I agree with jskufan. I think we would have more than enough people to constitute having our own chapter. Three of us are talking now and we are all no more than 3-4 miles from one another. There are a lot more in our area. We havent even heard from people in Topeka, Lawrence and Wichita yet. As far as Nebraska and Iowa not having chapters, can't they if they so desire? To lump us all together, you might as well call it the Midwest chapter, or the Midlands chapter etc. All these states have historically larger than average truck populations. I think each state could handle it's own chapter, if it is a matter of numbers.

But what about the rest of Kansas? KS Metro does not make Kansas. Colby, Garden City, Hutchinson, Great Bend, etc help to make Kansas. If you look at some of the chapter forums they struggle to maintain any activity due to the low number of people who will participate. Even Greywolf's chapter in the Tennesse forum is dependent on 2-3 regular posters. I would lean towards a Mid-West chapter instead of splitting us up by state.

I understand the thought but experience has taught me otherwise. I would offer that the more you can draw people in the more succesful the endeavor will be. A comparsion (not intended to start a grudge): I graduated from KSU, does that mean I have anything in common with KU other than a rivalry?
My point is thus; It would be great to have a Kansas chapter. However it may struggel due to limited posting after the first 3 months. IMHO.
A Northern Plains Region may be a better name. What most people call the Mid-West is too far east of here.

I wasn't excluding the rest of Kansas by any means. However, I wasn't going to sit here and type out every name of every town. You can argue the point that the KC area (KS) is okay in the MO chapter since they share a metro area. What about Garden City, Colby, Hayes, Dodge, Clay center etc.? Why would they post to a Missouri Forum? Like I said, maybe no one from other towns are posting because they don't see a KS forum. I don't know. I did read an article not all that long ago that did name KS, IA, NE, OK and TX as the five higest truck populations per capita. (not necessarily in that order.) My original point was and still is, if you build it, they will come. To paraphrase a bad movie.
What would be the harm? Open it, let it run a period of time, if it doesn't work out, close it and combine us all into a midlands chapter, the Midland Empire (thanks St. Joe) North Central is like Minnesota and Wisconsin, according to them anyway. Aren't Kansas and Nebraska also the "High Plains"?
Hang10, I agree, why not start the "Kansas" charter and post the announcement up in General Conversation as well and see what happens. I tried to look through the members list yesterday to get an idea of how many registered members were from Kansas but you can't do it very efficiently. You can look by state or region, but it takes to long to scroll through the pages. I've also noticed several people with ties to the region that actually live somewhere else. They might be interested in participating as well.
Well, that's two votes for our own chapter. I don't see the problem. According to statistics, Kansas has more truck owners than Missouri, yet they have their own chapter, not that there is anything wrong with that. It doesn't make sence though to expect people in Grand Forks, Nebraska, for example, to post to a Missouri, or Kansas forum. I'd put them up, if they don't attract enough members, or posters, close it and combine it with another. I keep harping on stats. However, if Kansas has the third most pick up truck owners in America, which it does, per capita and Missouri ranks like 17th, how much sence does it make to exclude Kansas and open one for Missouri? I know, it isn't that simple. Just illustrating a point.
As far as ultramagdan's statement about the only thing in common is a rivalry between the respective schools. Okay, using that logic, what does Missouri have in common with Nebraska? Or Kansas with Oklahoma etc.

Kansas was not "excluded". Missouri just opened a chapter first. Chapters are opened when there are enuf people to post regularly and there is a demand for them.
The reason I suggested a Mo-Kan forum was to keep the number of participants high.

I know Kansas wasn't excluded intentionally, that's why I wrote what I did. I realize there was no plan to keep anyone out.
Hey Rick, I tried to e-mail you and the error message said I couldn't. Do you have your e-mail turned on? To put a picture in your signature you have to post one somewhere on the internet, or simply give it an address. The easiest way is to upload one into your gallery, you can bring them in from your computer. Then, go to settings, and I think it's under edit profile and scroll down to the "signature" box. You have to copy and paste the address for the picture in this box with the usual code, () for example. The easiest way is to bring up the picture in your gallery, copy it, then go into settings and paste it in the signature box. You only get about 200 characters so you might have to eliminate some text if you want picture + text. Also, shrinking the size of the picture helps. You might try shrinking it down to under 80 x 80 to start out. Good luck! Let me know when your e-mail is activated.
Well, how about a " Central Plains " forum ? Ks,Ne,Ia,OK,MO,Il share a unique history with being the starting place for the Western migration of the 1800's, the Okie migration of the 30's, and just plain 'ol Family type values that seem to be lost now a days. After 15 yrs of over the road truck driving, I can honestly say there isn't any part of the country comparable to ours ( NOT saying were better, just share a common history). Al
