Original black and kept it black, engine hood was completely shot and the roof was gone as well. nothing but rust and bare metal left on top. Unfortunately, I didn't take any before pics.I'm the original owner with 112k miles, figured it was time to put a little love back into her.
We went with truck bed liner on the roof, it's going to be interesting if it really transfers more heat into the cabin, It looks good though. I just washed it for the first time since I got it back a week ago and it was getting dark outside so pics aren't the best. once I get it waxed this week I'll be able to see how it really looks.
Think I'm going to swap out the 20" HD rims for a black set and go back to some bigger Nitto's. Also going to redo all window trims and replace the carpet.
Looks great! I wouldn’t think the bed liner would be any hotter than black paint. Kind of an out there application for bed liner, but I like it. Maybe slightly quieter also.
Considering that you had roof rust that is covered with Rhino liner, waxing won't hurt the value of your Ex.. As an FYI to others, normally a new paint job should cure out for 6 months before capping off with wax. Waxing too soon traps slowly evaporating paint solvents and can lead to paint de-lamination later on.
What did you do about the rust on the roof that was almost through?
otherwise that’s good use of rhino liner.
There was about 3 hrs of prep to get the roof ready to accept the liner, can't say verbatim but restoguy should be able to expand on the prepping.

Spraying cars since 1975.
Resto, You're the expert so I'll wait 6 months before I have it waxed, I think if I'm reading you're comment correctly you feel that I've lessened the value of the truck by having the roof lined?
Seeing as how I'm the original owner and will be driving it till the kids take away my keys I'm not worried about any possible loss in value. Honestly with the lift and 20" rims about 1 in a 1000 can actually see the roof!
Maybe if it was a future collectable but I don't see that happening with the excursions and with the truck sitting outside in the S Fl sun it will be interesting to see if it was prepped right and how long it will hold up for.

My read was that the rust in the roof diminished the value already, so you didn't have to worry about little things like the rhino liner.
