Guys here in this section are usually better, but there are some. I believe because the 99-16 section covers a broader selection of trucks, it's way worse. I see some that post that probably do not look into the problem by searching here or online. But if I know something about what someone asks or if I can find it online, I'll help them out.
The Bosch VP44 used in the older Cummins also had failures. Deere used it in the 4.5 and 6.8 L engines but I haven't read or heard about many if any failures

Yep, and it was used in many Case tractors with the cummins as well and not too many reported failures, not saying there hasn't been but not as many. Tractors probably use a sufficient low pressure fuel pump

And just taking a wild guess, going by your user name, you are also familiar with the Stanadyne Roosa Master.......like they “NEVER” failed!!! LOL! But, at least they were cheap to repair.
