When it doesnt have any it like the truck is turned off its that far to the left of the L. what do u guys think i want to get it going but i dont want to drive it like that? Any help would be awesome. thanks

Get a mechanical pressure guage and check your pressures that way to be safe. The stock guage is just a idiot light with a needle.

check the sending unit. it should be located next to the oil filter and you may have a bad connection.

it is always a good ideal that after a rebuild to change out all the old sensors since thay control the engine on the newer vehicles.

worst case you may just have a bad oil pump or loose pick up tube

I would pull the distributor and hook up a drill to the pump to see if you are building pressure before you start the motor.

How about the bearings? I know you rebuilt the motor but this is the usual cause for low oil pressure

Is it possible for the oil pump drive rod to get sucked up out of the oil pump into the bottom of the distributor so that it doesnt hit the pumpand doesnt get pressure

DID YOU PRIME THE OIL PUMP ??
BEFORE YOU INSTALL A NEW OIL PUMP YOU MAY NEED TO PRIME IT,JUST A SMALL AMOUNT OF GOOD CLEAN GREASE WILL START THAT SUCKER SUCKIN.IM NOT 100% SURE OF THIS BUT I THINK THERE IS A CHECK VALVE INSIDE THE OIL PUMP ALSO YOU MAY WANNA CHECK IT TOO.
