I have a 2013 F-250 Lariat and my air bag light is on. Checked the code and it was U0151 (lost communication with restraints control module). Does anyone know where they are located? Only video I can find is for an F-150 but it did not have the full center console like I have and it was under the front middle seat. I would like to replace myself and not pay dealership repair prices so any info will help. Thank in advance.
Don't just throw a module at it. If the driver airbag lost communication with the module it could and most likely would be the clock spring. This stuff just doesn't go out but clock springs do. Be careful using a multimeter to check wiring on restraint systems. You can blow a bag and get hurt.
I already ordered a SRS module to test. My dealer has an ABS module in stock if I need it. You think I should get a clockspring and try it? All of these are about the same cost. I just got a good diagram from the workshop manual and I'm trying to narrow down where the faults are most likely to be originating from.
My suggestion is to start diagnosing circuits instead of throwing parts at it and hoping it will fix the problem. ABS is a anti lock brake module. Do you have issues there also? My suggestion is to get a alldatadiy.com subscription and follow their diagnostic charts to locate your problem. Just throwing parts at it can get expensive.
