Axle Splines ?

quick question

I have a 78 f-150. Its has the usual 44 up front and 9'' in the back. i was wondering if anyone knew the spline of the top of there head. Thanks.

Somebody will have a SWAG answer. If axles have been swapped etc there is no telling when they get this old. There are posts on these subjects you can search for.

I'd expect 31 spine on the 9" in your setup but,,,One never knows does one? At least not for sure untill you look.

I agree with beartracks, most likely 31 splines. Some came with 28, but not many that I've seen. Pull the shaft and start countin'.

P.S. Torque, what's SWAG? I'm too dumb to figure that one out.
