Could be due to age, I carry a spare Denso COP for potential misfires. If it works run it.
Yeah, they all have cracks. One has what looks to be rust coming out of the cracks and another has corrosion on the terminal to the plug. I'm definitely replacing those 2. It's tempting to just replace all of them. Maybe I'll smear some RTV over the cracks on the others for now.
.... Are cracks in the COP normal or do I need to replace them?
I think the first time I changed the plugs in our Exped I cracked a COP at the base of the connector.
It's tempting to grab the connector part to remove them.
The crack was so clean it was really hard to see.
It worked fine until some rain mist got in there and it would misfire,
That part of the COP is a weak area.
They couldn't spare a bit more plastic in the molding to smoothly transition from the connector to the coil housing?
I JB Weld all my COPs .
I replaced one due to a coolant leak, 3 weeks later the truck was running rough so I went through and replaced all COPs and Plugs. I thought the truck ran really smooth before the leak, it just purrs now. I would recommend to replace them all if they are original. It is cheap insurance and does not take too much time.

The coils will last a lot longer than the boots.
I replace the plugs & boots at 50k and our 2002 Excur with 135k still purrs with the original coils.

That's a good idea. I decided to order new ones, our EX has 230,000 on it. I was putting new boots on them when I found they were all cracked
