Whining rear end ?

Following advise from another thread regarding a clunk in my driveline, I checked the torque on my pinion nut. It was low about 20 ftlbs I tightened it to 150 which is close to the spec for it and the clunk went away. Here's the new problem since then I have noticed a slight whine coming from the rear of the truck. Do I need to back off the pinion nut or is this just a result of it being loose to long and wearing the pinion and ring. I also just rotated the tires and it is possible the sound is coming from them but I kind of doubt it.

well if had any kinda irregular wear on the tires you put on the back it could whine, but it my just be due to age/mls did you check the oil in the rear end? if everything is in order you might try unhooking your drive shaft put the trany in nutral (wheels chocked) and rotate the drive shaft 180 degr. and bolt it back up. the tires are worn irregular due to my not having the front alligned after puting my bumper on. Worn on the inside and slightly cupped. I also didnt mark the shaft when I tightened the pinion.
