hi all, my carb gets fuel leaking out of the very top cover. isthat saying float may not be right adjustment? i just rebuilt carb this summer but i didnt change anything in the float axsept needle valve. thanx pine
Could be a piece of grit or debris in the needle seat area or, could be excessive fuel pump pressure output. Maybe a pinole in the float itself. Fuel level aka "wet height" in the carburetor bowl should always be checked after the carburetor is actually installed on the engine. Spec height is in the manual.
This is the fuel height not float height. Normally the routine is to let the warmed up engine idle for a few minutes on level ground. Shut the engine off and pull the air horn and check. Raise or lower float height as required to achieve the proper wet height spec.
