If grown for the leaves, they remove the flowers since they zap all the energy (photosynthates) from the plant. Best to partition those sugars and carbs into nice big vegetative leaves; full of smooth flavor, alkaloids and stimulants.
My tomatoes are about done; we might hold off on a killing frost for another week or two. Peppers are hot 'n full of pain. Been making my own salsa, 'cause what else can one do with hot peppers?
Nearly finished painting the exterior of the house. Still need to do the eaves, but they're good enough to wait until next summer.
Using my rope/rock climbing gear tied off in the house (in 3 places) to step out of the upstairs windows and paint the 2nd story. Seems i'm the talk of the neighborhood. Oh well, keeps me entertained between teaching classes.
We've had 4 weekends in a row with rain on one or both days. This weekend rain is forecast too.
Hoist a glass, one and all, to our own Bill Pounds, who turns (the ripe old age of) 65 today!
Happy Birthday, Bill!

Thanks

Man, you ain't kidding. I had no idea how much junk, mail and cell. Must be some big bucks in that biz. I could eat for a month on all the "seminar" offers.
So far, I am covered by my wife's employer, so I don't have to pick a plan. I was ready to go with a Medicare Advantage plan, then we got on the other insurance so to heck with that. My aunt and uncle (early '70s) warned me about an Advantage plan they were on that was an HMO. They got burn on out of network service when travelling. Some of the plans look pretty good, but match it up to what you'll really be doing.
Nearing a year and a half for me in retirement and I have yet to fully implement a "Plan". Some travel, some backyard workover, some sleeping in. My wife is going to work 4 more years, so I think I need to get so pep in my step as I don't see the current situation as much fun.
Of course, I have gotten some allergy with atomic level sneezing, so as soon as that clears up, I'll get right on my new retirement plan.
I had my dog with me in the front seat so I went around that drop. But it would have been no sweat.
Suffice to say though that the F100 did the entire trip in two wheel drive. Even the sand.
The other guys can’t say that.
Its an amazing truck.
