Hi,
I thought that I had been seeing a lot of either black or white vehicles for a while now -- so I checked on the interwebs. Seems that in nearly every class it's black, white, silver, or gray in the top spots. The order varies by vehicle type, but they're usually all up there. Not sure why things have gone that way. Nothing against those colors -- just wondering.
Could be those particular colors are neutral enough that the owner doesn't get tired of seeing a semi-extreme colored vehicle over a few years. Black has always been tre chic, white easy to hide a lot of dirt, grey & silver just a color that's easy enough on the eye.
Too many of the brighter colors tend to fade and look like crap after a few years. People just don't take care of their vehicles these days like years ago---I do remember men taking a full day washing and waxing their cars. Sadly I have white vans that get "washed" every time it rains.
I can't really remember when a body style would support a nice factory two-tone finish---or when they were last available from the dealer? I think Bently offers a few choices---if that's in your budget.
Black, white, silver and gray are the most popular colors. Go to a dealer, any make dealer, see how many blue, red and tan vehicles are present on the lot. If you find more than one, I'd be surprised.
When I was at the local Thousand stumps (Oaks) Ford dealer in July 2017, every Fusion except one was one of these 4 colors. I took the one that wasn't, it's burgundy.
Go to texas, New Mexico or Arizona and you just have white, silver and some lighter greys thrown in. I got a lot of strange looks in my Black F150 on interstate 10 and 20 going through there.
