Rapid blinker issue

I have a 1997 7.3 f250, when I turn the blinkers on it will blink normal for 1-2 seconds then start rapidly blinking. Could this be a bad ground, rubbing wires, or relay issue? I have no clue, please help me.

welcome to FTE
as William said it could be a bulb burned out.

or someone could have converted the bulbs to LED

No bulbs are burned out. That’s why I’m having so much difficulty figuring out why it’s doing that

Remember, there are 3 marker bulbs to each headlight. 1 of those 3 being out can cause you the issue.

otherwise you might just have a bad relay.

I went through a bunch of them till I took a chance and got the "heavy duty" one or whatever that looks like it wont fit, Well it works good. hahah and it fits.

It would have to be bad relay, I went thru all the bulbs yesterday and they were good, and replaced some anyways for the fun of it but still both blinkers are doing it

I'm trying to remember if there is a fuse under the hood.
But as well, do you have a trailer brake kit?

Possible short there which will cause fast blinker.

No I dont have trailer brakes. Isn’t the relay right under the dash towards the bottom?

Yeah, the round thing down there. Usually metal, but sometimes plastic.

I only use Motorcraft blinker fluid. The big box store stuff seems to make my blinkers look dull. The OEM really brings out the color.

I would check the flasher relay

i tried using synthetic blinker fluid, but it leaked out of the cracks in the old wires cause it was thinner.
so i had to flush the system and put authentic Motorcraft blinker fluid back in

Might have a bent blinker fluid dipstick - shorting out. Be careful with that thing - gentle.
