I've got a bad miss in my 2002 V10, so I connected an ODB scanner to check it out. Looking at live data, it shows expected readings for oxygen sensor 1 bank 1, but sensor 1 bank 2 is blank, as if it's not even installed. I had to crawl under there just to verify it really has two. Heh, it does.
Shouldn't the engine computer throw a code if it's reading zero? And shouldn't the computer tell the scanner the voltage is zero, rather than no data?
Rabbit trail. The downstream sensors, when present, have nothing to do with your misfires.

Two or three in total?
Federal emissions (OBDI) SD trucks will only have the two upstream O2 sensors. California emissions (OBDII) versions add a single third downstream sensor to monitor catalyst performance (V10, 2002 MY). Check the emissions compliance sticker on the underside of the hood or read the OBD version with your scan tool.
