I have a 2000 v10 and i am getting a heated o2 sensor code. I have replaced the sensors and still getting the code. also I back probed the plugs and I am getting exactly 12v constant when the key is turned on ... my book says I should only get voltage for a moment when the key is cycled.
Is there something else to check ? Relay issue ??
any help will be appreciated
You may want to try cleaning the MAF sensor and replace the air filter if you haven't done so. Disconnect the negative terminal for a half hour while you're cleaning it to erase the memory stored in the computer so it relearns your driving habits.
i cleaned the maf sensor , replaced the air filter and I have a snap on modis obd2 machine to read and clear the codes ... still no success.
thanks for the input .
The MAF sensor has nothing to do with the O2 heater circuits nor is there any relay for those heater circuits. Trying to be helpful is nice, but if you don't have a clue how stuff works, please don't....you'll just send him off on a wild goose chase.
Normally, one side of the heater is connected to switched battery power so it's always hot when the ignition is in the RUN position. The heater is supposed to be turned on (PCM grounds the other terminal of the heater) for a short period of time after engine startup to get the sensor hot faster so the PCM can switch to closed loop sooner (emissions).

Like I stated, if I'm correct. I thought the early v10s had them. Ill admit yes I was wrong, but ya don't have to be rude about it.
anyone know what wires to look for on the plug for the pcm ? I need to check the wires for break or short. cant really get to the plug for bank one to see the wires and this dumb book doesnt call out for a 6.8 v10 , just 5.4 ....
ok, I had a bad tester... with new tester.
-Bank 2 12vdc with bank 1 disconnected
-bank 2 .018vdc with bank 1 connected
-bank 1 12vdc with bank 2 disconnected
-bank 1 .024vdc with bank 2 connected
all voltages are constant . not momentary. is there any other areas to check or is this a pcm issue?
yesterday , checked all voltage and sensors. also pulled the ecm harness out of the truck and checked resistance on all the sensor wires ( and marked them on each end before I re installed) .
So , is there anything else i can check before buying a new ecm ? if I need to buy one . what would be the best one to get ?
