Is the engine upgrade that noticeable over a regular 3.5 Eco boast? Wife test drove the limited liked the throttle response over her current 6.2L Yukon. Looking to bring her back to the Ford side after owning her GMC for 2 years. 2 Years 3 recalls and a tranny that feels like its about to grenade itself at 21K miles.
Speaking from my 2018 Raptor which is gone now. The 3.5 HO is a whole different beast. Same displacement but i believe slightly larger turbos? someone will have to fact check that for me.
With that being said Ive had the normal 3.5 in a f150 that was a loaner and it was still peppy but less eager? The raptor motor enjoys being on the throttle and seems happier at higher RPM.
With that being said again, I found that in the hills of southern NY/ Northern PA, it LOVES to shift with that 10 speed - Moreso than my current 5.0 with the 10spd does.
All around it was a good motor and trans setup besides the stupid quarter turn oil drain on THE SIDE OF THE MOTOR FACING YOUR A ARMS.. Still salty that I got my 4 post lift covered that first time.
If your wife enjoys her Yukon and wants to stick with the large SUV family, I think the top of the line Expedition and Navigator both still offer the same 3.5 HO and 10spd combo - just a tidbit
I have driven my dads 2019 limited and is has tons of juice although the standard 3.5 is no slouch. Great exhaust sound and gets similar mileage to his 2018 limited. Don’t think you would be disappointed.

She loved the Yukon XL until she had to drive around San Antonio That drove this decision to reduce size of vehicle. I got a 19 F350 so I still can road rage lol. Appreciate the feedback we got a hell of a deal and couldn't pass it up so she's rocking a try white crew cab limited. Motor is crazy responsive compared to the Lariat.
