1971/73 429/460 share the same block, the bore is the same, the stroke is different.
You have to measure the stroke to determine what size it is.
The numbers you posted that I deleted are no help, because they are related to both the 429 and 460.
D1VE-6015-AB or A1B or A2B: I've typed the 1971/78 and early 1979 internal balance block casting numbers, D9TE-6015-AB 1979/97 external balance block casting number dozens of times on FTE in multiple forums.
The only thing you really want is the crankshaft. Until you pull the pan and get eyes(pictures) on crank you will never know for sure. Its like the difference between 360 and 390, the crankshaft.
Might be able to tell from balancer if you knew the engine was never touched or switched, but that's taking a chance as well.
I would get it as long as I could put a big cam in it and not have to worry about changing the heads and a bunch or other stuff
I want it to sound good and thats all. Just a Saturday night ride.

Block casting number will determine if it's an internal or external balance. I listed the 1971/78 and early 1979 internal balance block casting numbers in post #2.
The last truck I almost bought that claimed was a 429 (was a 460)had a 2" gap between engine and trans. He started the engine and I waited for the flywheel to fly out from the giant gap. I asked why he did it and he replied "can't get a 400 to pull anything". Had modified t-bird motor mounts. Still don't no what headers he used, but he heated them and bent them to fit.
Only 429 thunderjet I ever had was in a 1969 ford xl. Then it went into a truck.
hahah
yeah this is kinda like that
The motor is not mounted and someone has hacked and welded two oil pans together
So i know i would need a driveshaft motor mounts and an oil pan right off
A company call L&L makes a swap kit to put a big block in the this model truck
check behind the harmonic balancer there is a spacer there it will have a weight on it if it is external balanced and just a spacer if internal. I would not be afraid of it either way both damn good engines. Does it run? and how well? do a valve job re-ring it put roller timing set in and bring it back to zero timing and have a hay day
would it be much trouble to find a picture of what you are talking about
it does have a spacer on the crank
but i really dont know what im looking for either
It kinda of reminded me of a timing geat sprocket kinda lol or at least whats on this motor
