2017 6.7l DPF

Good day all,

I have a 17 F350 new to me. Have a few questions about DPF. Looking for some direction here.
Yesterday left home DPF @ 85% full drove approx. 30 miles truck went into Regen. Traveled my 71 mile commute to work got to work and DPF @ 5%. Left work yesterday for my 71 mile commute @ 5% and by the time I got home DPF @ 65%. Today again left for work @ 65% got to work DPF @ 85%. Left work this afternoon @ 85% drove the 71 miles never went into regen...Got home and DPF @ 100% put truck in park dash said manual regen push OK to start it. This last 2 days watching only DPF filter percentage screen have noticed this I have had the truck for about 10 months and have never seen manual regen. Also note last 2 days are not normal as i work from home most of the time so only short hops to the store and so on 10 miles a day or so.

I have a hard time believing that @ 75 MPH and a 1:15 minute commute the DPF would go from 5% to 65% and today never went into regen at 85% and when I get home @ 100% I have to do manual regen?? Any thoughts??

Mike

My 17 goes up 5% on my 32 mile commute. Not sure why yours is like that. I have read modern diesels do not like short trips. They need to get heated up.

You can use Forscan to turn off the DPF filter screen and move on with your life.

That's what I would do....

I use an EDGE CTS2 to monitor everything. Pretty amazing seeing the soot % because that was not available on my dodges. I always like to know when a regen starts so I can keep driving!! I am also amazed at the EGT numbers on these fords. THe post turbo will easily get to 1000 degrees like its nothing.
