Has anyone found a solution for fitting a larger tank to a 2018 Platinum F250 6.7d Power Stroke 160" tub. As some of the remote parts of Australia can have fuel stops around 650k(500 miles) apart and fuel can be 45% dearer in remote areas, I would prefer to have a larger tank rather than the 5x20l jerrycans taking up room in the back. I'm told if I replace the standard tank with a larger diesel tank I will lose the distance remaining information on the dash - is there a way that this information can be retained as it can be a bit unnerving trying to work out how much is in the tank when you are getting very low on fuel and the distance to the next fuel stop is critically close. To pull out the jerry cans often takes rearranging the interior (fridge; sleeping gear; generator etc.) and filling in a rain storm makes the task a little difficult and annoying (getting old softens one's resolve at times :-) ) Can a larger tank be fitted without too much modification?

What about a transfer tank. I think I have heard someone people rigging them up so they can turn a valve and have it go into their truck tank when they need to.
I installed a titan 55 gal tank and used forscan to reprogram the tank size. Very easy swap and reprogramming only took a couple of minutes.Dealer did the install and only charged an hour, i did the reprogramming as they cannot. hope this helps.
I put in a Titan 50 gallon tank to replace the factory tank in my 2011 F250. I did the install myself in my driveway , just make sure you use up most of the fuel in the factory tank before dropping it . The dealership reset the computer for the 50 gallon tank so the miles to empty would be accurate for the 50 gallon . I used a floor jack to lower and raise the tanks , probably took me 3hours taking my time . I think now on the newer body style trucks the capacity for the Titan is 55 gallons . Really nice seeing over 900 miles until empty .
S&B makes a 60 Gallon Replacement tank that allows you to retain the stock skid plates. I have the Titan tank and it has been great. I also used ForScan to reprogram the miles to empty and it works great. When it says 0 miles to empty you have about 2-3 Gallons Left.

That S&B tank looks sick. Only sacrifices 1 inch of ground clearance. Pretty good install and recalibration videos on their website. Anyone have any experience with it?
Would like to thank the responders to my question and am seriously considering the tanks outlined.
The problem in Australia is that the Aus$ is worth less than 69cent US and importing one ends up costing $1560 US.
Local tank manufacturers only make 47gal tanks (max) so the S&B 60 gal looks like a good option. All I have to do now is bone up on Forscan to get the DTE spot on
The other thing to watch is the capacity in Litres varies from US gallon (3.785l) to UK gallon(2.1997l) so will be sticking to US manufactured tank.
My 2018 6.7 F250 superduty has a 34 gallon tank fitted and reading another thread on tank capacities and they seem to vary a bit - I was of the impression a 34 gallon tank takes 34 gallons
but in manufacter terms "near enough is good enough" and some in that particular thread seem to have a range of different capacities nice to know my 34 gal is in fact 34 gal.
Thanks for your interest in S&B Tanks. Please let me know if you have any questions.
Shipping + the US dollar to Australian dollar rate makes it tough to get a good price. We just quoted the shipping to Victoria, AU and it was expensive...
Shoot an email to customerservice@sbtanks.com and we can connect you to a S&B Dealer in Victoria who should be able to save you money on the freight as he ships container loads.
How do you guys with the titan tanks go about filling the tank if it’s pretty empty. All the stations I go to put a cap on the dollar amount per transaction, so you’d have to go about doing so in multiple transactions?
