Yet another LED bulb thread

Not really asking for help here as I have gone back to incandescent.

But a weird thing occurred.

Used a rear tail light LED with no current limiting resistor.

With headlights off, the brake light and blinker worked just fine

With the headlights on, the brake light worked fine but when I turned on the indicator, it just stayed on (or hyper flashed so fast that it looked always on)

Like previous threads stated - not saving power using a power resistor.
With new covers the incandescent bulbs look bright enough.

I recently ordered from Natl Parts Depot item # 13350-6B $11.95 for my LED rear lights.
"Flasher, turn signal, electronic relay-LED02"

THanks Tippy
Dumb questions follow

Where does this relay now go?
Is it a replacement of a relay present? Or an addition?

...it replaces the flasher unit for incandescent bulbs....plug 'n' play. If you have four-way hazards, you need one there too.

Thanks resonateur
I'll go hunt for the two of them (flasher and hazard) under my dash and order them.
Thanks so much for the help everyone.

Tippy, did that flasher get yours to work? I have tried 2 different LED flashers with no luck.

I have also had problems with the LED bulbs in the turn signals being just a tad too narrow (diameter) to keep the locking tabs in the notches.

Who was your source for bulbs?

I have also gone back to incandescent because I kept chasing gremlins with the LED's. Every thing is good now, but would still like the brightness of LED's.

Good point
I also bought LEDs that seem a little loose.

I am thinking to just stick with incandescent after all this

an easy fix to this problem is to wire in an incandescent bulb in line and it will work like it is supposed to it acts as the load and still lets the led's work just tuck it away some where so it can't be seen
