Does the Test Results section work for you? I didn't for me, I believe the $53 data is the misfires, but when I did it on my 00 v10 I got nothing returned. However I didn't try the send codes method above.
"Go to "Test Results", wait a minute or two for all the data to be read, then scroll down to TID $53, CID $01-$0A."
Took a chance on those error messages and took coil #8 out. Lots of dirt and sand in the hole. Blew it all out with a can of compressed air. Under the advice of this forum, I had picked up a spare COP from Amazon (Spectra) on sale a while ago. I put a little dielectric grease on the spring and stuck it back in. A little anti-seize on the 7mm bolt and its back together. Start it up and its running smooth again. As a test, I pulled the connector off the #8 COP and it ran rough. Plugged it back in and its smooth.
I have ordered the 10 pack of Denso boots, a set of Motorcraft Gsf22w Park Plugs and 1 Denso COP for another spare from Rock Auto. I ordered the GearWrench Tools KDT41740 Spark Plug Kit from Amazon so I will have the right tools to get the plugs out once everything arrives, and I have time to get in there and do this job.
Thanks to all for the assistance with this problem.

I'd be curious as to how the plugs are labeled when they come in, the factory plugs were MC AGSF22WM but I thought that they had been superceeded by the MC SP-479 plugs. Maybe those factory plugs are still available.....?

Glad to hear that you got it running well again!
Looking at my RockAuto receipt, the plug part# is shown as: MOTORCRAFT - SP479
Seems I spoke too soon. I just took the EX to test the new Haul Gauge calibration, and though it is ildeing smoothly, once in drive and throttle is applied, it is still running rough. :-(

I had a trouble similar to this on my V10. My trouble was intermittent until it failed solid. My diag. showed the driver(power) for the cop #9 in question was faulty. Turned out to be broken wire on the connector itself. It was "faulty" until the last copper strand broke. Have you checked for good continuity on the coil connectors?

Not as of yet. I have ordered new plugs and boots. I also ordered 1 new coil plug, just in case. As noted above, the test to find the misfire failed. I was not wanted to have to look at all this twice so I will check everything when I am replacing the plugs.

To be honest I eliminated everything else first, plugs and cops.
So you are saying that you changed the COP's and plugs and still had the rough idle?
I'll check the wires when I change the plugs, replace boots. Still waiting for the boots to be delivered Wed or Thur.
Yes, it started out as an occasional miss. We were on a x-country trip. The trouble started with hiccup while we gassing up in Phoenix. It showed up a couple more times in NM. The trouble came in hard in Elk City Ok. I ran a diag, and didn't pay attention to what the code was telling me. It was P0359, so I replaced the cop for cylinder #9. P0359 is power to the coil, P0309 would have indicated a bad plug or coil, maybe even an injector. Long story short when I examined the connector the copper inside the sheath was broken. My theory is that there was only a couple of strands of copper holding until it broke completely. Hence the occasional miss under load.
Hopefully the plugs and boots get you fixed. I found a boot that was taped with electrical tape, and another that had a split in the side when I did mine

My engine seems to be a virgin. Everything looks to be original Ford/Motorcraft except for the oil filter and battery. It appeard to be a Soccer mom's vehicle before I got it. So i am guessing I will be the first to do anything with the coils and plugs.
