dash *****

Gentlemen, My little feeble mind seems to remember having chrome dash ***** in one of my cars. I'm assuming it was one of my galaxies. They were a duplicate of the black plastic ones we have in our trucks. Does anyone have a clue where to buy them, or if I'm just hallucinating?

No passenger car of any year used the same dash ***** as the trucks. No 1961/66 truck has chrome dash *****.

1961/66 F100/1100 ***** are black plastic with a white plastic center. These were also used on 1961/67 Econolines and 1966/67 Bronco's.

1963/64 Galaxies have chrome dash *****. I've owned 15 1963's and 2 1964's.

Not hallucinating. The '62 to '64 Fairlane ***** with the chrome inserts were very similar to the truck ***** but not identical.

OK for anyone interested in a Chrome replacement, I found Scott Drake has headlight, cig lighter and wiper ***** for '66 Mustang that are very similar to ours but chrome. I think I can use the wiper **** for all the other ***** we have.

Great idea and a good find. When you get the parts can you measure the length of the headlight shaft. I installed a '72 switch asm in my '64 and IIRC the shaft is 3.5 inches.

Thanks,
Pat

Will do, I think they are steel *****, so if they are different you could just buy all wiper ***** and tap a thread for a set screw and use them on everything. That was my hope.

Oh forgot to mention, I also found the same ***** in white plastic, I think they were for Falcons.

It measures 3-15/16" from the base of the ****. But the wiper **** does have a set screw so you can use it for any ****. And they look very nice.

Thanks Eric, I'm going to have to do something with the ***** and I see online that you can order just the wiper **** so I may be ordering 4 or 5 of those. Pat

Sounds like a plan, I have to finish designing my interior. I don't know what I'm doing for AC yet, and I'd like to find a pair of cable operated vents, so I'll hold out on the rest of the ***** until I know how many I need. I think it will be a nice touch to the interior.

Eric

PS; speaking of cable operated vents, does anyone know where I could find one or both?
