4.6 Ltr 2v Power and Differences
Hey guys i have a couple of questions:
As you can read i Have a 2007 f150 with an immaculate 4.6 2v engine. from what i have seen the model 98-03 engine is the same 2v motor in mustangs and f150s. Are they the same can i use mustang performance parts on this 4.6? If not can some one send me a link to where i can buy a blower. I love this truck the V8 is so reliable i just want a little more mmphf I think a blower or turbo kit would be great but i dont know if i can use the mustang kits with a little modification. Please help out im not looking to make a race truck. I just want a truck that doesnt feel as anemic when i haul **** up the mountains to go camping. If I cant do any mods i might trade this in. But i dont want too, the 4.6 is the most reliable engine ford as made in a minute.

Slapping a blower or turbo on a 200,000 mile engine (and transmission for that matter) is probably not a good idea.
And yes, some of the Mustang stuff will go across, but depends on the individual kits.
Either way, I wouldn't suggest it.

What's your stock gear ratio? Look into a gear swap if you want a little more "seat of the pants" pull from your truck.
Forced induction on a high mileage motor (that wasn't built for it in the first place) will be a very expensive and frustrating lesson.

You probably have 3.55 rear gears. A swap to 4.10s would be nice and make use of that O/D off button as well when pulling.
You at least have the 250 horsepower 4.6 and it basically is the older Mustang 4.6. Bad thing: torque peaks at 4000 rpms and it really doesn’t start pulling until close to 3000 rpms. Gears and that magic button I mentioned would help since it cruises at or below 2000 rpms generally.
