Vibration 65 mph +

So.. I have a weird vibration at 65 mph. 55 nothing, 65 and up it gets worse and worse. Thinking its in the front wheels etc...

But truck has new wheel bearings, new brake drums/rotors, new brake pads, new brake calipers, brake flex lines, new rims, new rubber, all 3 universal joints, rear pinion assembly, new shocks, etc.

Front hubs / rubber do not get more then warm to the touch after half hour on the highway.

I no longer have the metal on metal noise thanks to wheel bearings being done but now I cant get rid of this darn vibration. Makes me not want to drive it on the highway at all.

I have had 2 different sets of tires/rims up front and still same vibration.

Driveshaft balanced? Correct wheel balancing (I assume since new wheels/tires?) only thing I can think of but seeing as how most of these trucks didn't see 65+ very often I just assume a 40+ year old truck has earned its right to shake given that speed lol. I understand the frustration but I doubt it's anything you will be able to correct without setting the body on a 90s frame and driveline. Just my .02

Have you changed the rear wheels?

Have you had them all road forced balanced and check for an out of round rim?

Swap the current wheels/tires and see if the vibration moves to the back. Meaning swap the 2 fronts to rear, and the 2 rears to the front ect..and take it a quick spin.

Or maybe it is a combination of maybe worn king pins, tie rod ends, loose pitman arm? Slack/slop in the steering box? How does the steering joint flex coupling (AKA a rag jints) look? And insp radius arm bushings? Coil springs good, tight and seated in the bucket? Retaining strap? All front end bolts/brackets tight no rust cracked stuff no loose hdwrzz? Have you inspected the motor mounts and the trans cross member mounts?

X2 on a new rim is not always a perfect rim. Take the front tires off and get just the rims spin balanced checked.

In addition to your drive shaft balance, take a look at your U joints on both ends of the shaft. Those things are known to cause your exact symptoms

Steering is good. some side to side play but its generally not too bad. Even with the vibration the side to side is the same.

I have also tried braking when it is happening and no change. Both in and out of gear.

I will have to check to make sure all 3 universal joints are lined up. They are all new and the hanger bearing is new. (within the last year)

Tires/wheels on the back are new new. ones on front were the rears and they were checked for balance.

I've had a suggestion to check the front wheel nuts to make sure they are still tight from when the bearings were changed.

Could be the bushing in the trans tail housing, they can be worn enough to cause a vibration, without leaking oil.

Vibration can be a real task to "nail down" sometime. You've got a lot of good suggestions. Just continue pursuing it. Be sure NOTHING is loose anywhere. Wheels need to be straight. Tires need to not be out of round. All wheels/tires must be balanced dynamically. U-joints must be without any looseness. Driveshafts must run true. Look closely at anything that turns. If you owned the truck at a time it didn't have the vibration, think about what may have changed with it to cause the vibration. Best wishes!
