What would you do?
my question is: what would you do? like my friend im just living my life. i can still work and drive and do what i have to. its harder for me to do things i once did with ease, but i can still function. what would you do if you had to live youre life differently because of a medical condition?
It's really hard to say what I'd do if I was in a situation. I would probably continue on with my day to day things. Making the most of each day and doing the things I've always wanted to do but didn't get to yet. I'd spend more time with family and friends. This is what I believe I'd do, but like I said, I haven't been put in that situation yet. I do however, wish you and your friend the best and hope that everything turns out good for you. Take care."like my friend im just living my life. i can still work and drive and do what i have to. its harder for me to do things i once did with ease, but i can still function. what would you do if you had to live youre life differently because of a medical condition?"
I also have had to make adjustments both physical and mental as I have grown older and had medical problems. I have realized that life is a not a two lane road going over some distant horizon. I can see the end from where I stand now still at a distance but nearer than I ever thought possible. We will not be here forever. So, live every single minute of your life appreciating this wake up call as a gift. Don't waste a minute worrying. Starting today, the people in your life that need forgiveness forgive them. The people in your life that need love give them that gift. Those banjo lessons that you always wanted to take, do it. That old friend you lost contact with, find them. Get up early, stay up late. See the sun, the rain, the wind and rejoice you are alive! What a precious thing life is, let the ones that come after you worry about the end. May God bless and keep you. NHIM
Keep living your life as best you can. Don't quit doing anything, although at times it will seem that is the easiest option. You have a group of friends here at FTE that have lived through challenges and troubling times as well and you can be damn sure that they are all pulling for you.
Keep us posted. Hopefully, things will turn around and start improving and before you know it - the whole thing is in the past.
i (honestly) dont want any sympathy. none of the docs are really sure whats wrong. anemia is the only diagnosis so far. they gotta find out whats causing the anemia. who knows what the mri will show.
dignosed with having Fibromyalgia. I immediately started doing research about the effects & how it affects a person's life.
I have now COPED with this (statistically, a woman's) disease.
About a year ago now (During Michelle's medical ordeal)I was told it has now changed to progressive MS.
So far for me, it has been an uphill battle of :
1)Trying to get *some* doctor's to believe some of the symptoms
2)Making & Keeping Friend's, plus, hoping they will understand what a person with this goes through, and that it isn't contagious and remain friend's.
3)COPING,COPING,COPING with it.
The coping skills are really hard to learn & live.
4)Constantly seeking medical help, and a cure.
5)Being involved in Medical study groups ( at this time 3)
6)Un-believable amounts of Medication
7)New and creative ways of therapy.Vitamins, supplements,Herbal remedies,acupuncture,Rolfing,Hydro-Therapy,Aqua-size,Deep Muscle massage just to name a few.
I had gone from being able to do 18 hours/day of Physical labour
5-6 days a week for 23 years in the Concrete construction business to then at the age of 36 to not be able to hold a glass of water for 30-40 seconds before having to set it down or drop it.
It is very discouraging & I wouldn't wish this on anyone.
Keep Strong,Stay Focused,Pursue Happiness.

Sympathy? I think a lot of the responses you will get are actually Respect. You are facing a challenge and anybody who knows something is wrong and trys to have it addressed is a beacon of light for the rest of us. Meaning, you have the spirit and determimation to go on in the face of difficulty. That goes for Dennis to.

I remember seeing a TV special with Richard Pryor about fifteen years ago. While describing his recovery from some self-inflicted burns, he referred to the late John Wayne's battle with cancer. Pryor told about Wayne being confronted with death and in a perfect rendition of the Duke, Pryor said, "Death?, Get the f&#*t of here death, I'll let you know when I'm ready". Death was afraid of the Duke , said Pryor, and in my humble opinion Pryor's perspective was a healthy one.
Be the Duke.
Besides that:
