Hello all, new to the forum. My name is Spencer and I am from Ellsworth, MN. Last November i took a leap of faith and bought a wrecked 2003 F250. Paid 1,400 for it and took me 6 months to get it fixed up but i think it turned out sharp. You can be the judge of that. Anyway, on one of my junkyard trips, i found an 02? Lariat. It had leather, heated seats, all the bells and whistles. It had an overhead console with a digital face. I was thinking of grabbing it and sticking it in my truck but wasnt sure if the wiring was there or not. My question is, what options came with these trucks? Would my truck have the harness already there for an overhead console?
Hello Spencer,
I don't know the answer to your harness question (don't worry, somebody will know). Just wanted to welcome you to the board. Congrats on the truck purchase!

Dave's with Dave on this one. Welcome to the forum. Be proud of your great job. Somebody will the knowledge will chime in, don't worry.
Since you are talking about non-engine parts they should fit but I'm not sure if the harnesses are there for that in the overhead. There were several styles of overhead consoles so I'm not sure if the harness matched the console or was universal and the console only used the necessary pins for what you ordered. You can check by pulling it off the roof to see what the connector looks like and how many wires are going into it from the truck side. It's only 4 compression pins but it will feel like you're pulling the roof in when you do it.
As for the seat, if it didn't come with those options there is no connection for it. You seem to be pretty handy so you might be able to wire it up yourself as these functions only require the power/signal lines (they are not tied to any other features/controls of the truck and the heat/seat controls are on the seat skirt). The seats would be a direct swap as the '02 and '03 trucks are almost identical. The only caveat is to make sure they come from the same cab configuration. Your SuperCab has the seat belt harness in the seat and the Crew Cab does not (mounted externally on the pillar).

That junkyard truck also had adjustable pedals. Think that would be an easy swap?
I'm not sure how they are mounted so I don't know on that one. You'd have to look at how your pedals are mounted and how the adjustable pedals are mounted. It would obviously be an easy swap if they are the same but you would most likely have to wire up the pedals and definitely get a double momentary switch to operate them.
