I picked up this 1971 SWB Ranger and will start rebuilding it as soon as I pick it up next week. Thinking of doing the Crown vic swap instead of drop "I" beams, who has done this and how does it ride and handle after.
My previous '69 I lowered with DJM beams and it made a world of difference in handling and ride.
mblayton go to you-tube and type in TexasKnowHow. He has a complete series of videos on how to do this. His truck is a 67 f-100, but the process is the same.
I did the CV swap on a '64 and it drives great. Everyone online who talks about, and has a CV truck seems to really like the way it drives. Big thing to decide is whether to do a full frame swap or just the suspension swap.
I went with the suspension swap as my floor was in decent shape. I did need to replace the floor pans and front cab mounts but overall it was pretty good. I did a rear axle flip to lower the rear. Which required the frame to be C notched but allowed the bed floor to remain uncut.
Good luck and looking forward to seeing your build,
Pat
