Helping out my dad (who refuses to become a member of a FORD truck website )
They're wanting to re-do the front suspension on our 1988 so that it can be re-aligned free of charge. Plus, you can tell from riding in it that the suspension is 31 years old and tired out. Dad is a bit confused because he cannot find a kit that comes with all 4 front shocks - the truck has two shocks on each side up front. What he wants to know is if you can just buy four individual shocks or do they have to be specific to the TTB twin shock mount?
As long as you know the correct length and the mounting styles you should be able to find the part numbers to order the shocks individually. The two forward shocks will be the same and the two rear shocks will be the same. Spend a little time doing a google search and you should be able to find the lengths that you need for the truck, whether it is lifted or not. Just pay attention to the collapsed and the extended lengths.
