is anyone else having a rough ride in their f-150? my 150 rides terrible ,no aftermarket parts in the suspension yet. i have an 88 150 302 v8 4x4 30.5x9.50x15 in. tires. any small bump or crack in the road causes major jouncing in cab. how can i fix or solve problem get new shocks suspension bushings ,springs? please help.
Hi, I got a pretty hard ride but I have a heavy duty F250 4x4 yours should ride fairly good if it rides hard and you feel all the bumps as you say I would change the shocks. John
Not necassarily the shocks, it may be that your springs are too stiff or something of that sort, a stiff ride is what comes with good shocks, my truck drove like a boat on its dead shocks when I got it, threw on a set of Rancho RS5000 shocks and it now rides exactly as I wanted it to, stiff.
Push down on one of the corners of your truck HARD, if it bounces more than a couple times, dead shocks. Other wise I'd start looking for a blown bushing somewhere that is causing binding in the movement of the suspension.
try taking a look at your rear spring mounts to see if the linkage moves freely still. rusted linkage can cause the rear end to bounce all over, and ride really harsh. kinda like a dirt road wash board at 85mph.
