My wipers are wicked slow and weak, i replaced the wiper motor and tranny, it did not fix it. Do these trucks have a wiper relay? what else could it be? its like they are not getting enough juice, I haven't had a chance to test yet because my multi-meter is broken.
When I see slow wipers the first thing I think is bad alternator.
Thats interesting, I guess i could test that theory but its been like this about a year now, driven daily and everything else works electrically and as expected. This weekend i plan to take the old motor i changed and put power directly too it and see how it runs. Worse case ill hook up a toggle switch to my wipers to be full speed when switched on.
Maybe the stalk switch needs to be cleaned? Even though different, my 94 F150 had slow wipers. I took the stalk cap off and cleaned the contacts and they work good except for high speed.

Well like I said the 94 is different and has a cap on the end of the stalk that pops off easily. I'd have to look at the one on my EX to see how they compare but I'm sure the internals are similar.
The one big difference I see between the two switches is the EX has a washer button on the end which doesn't look like it will come off that easily. I read there is a relay in the column that could be to blame. So your idea to test the wiper motor directly is a good one to see if that's the problem.
I've searched a bit to see how the stalk comes apart but so far I haven't found anyhting yet.
Good luck.

AH, that relay is in the column?...ok i was looking for that the other day, i wanna try just swapping that out. they don't cost too much to try it
2011 might be different. I may be sending you on a wild goose chase.
The one photo I saw was from another truck. Damn google.
If the wiper linkage is set up how i think (i don't remember when i changed the motor) the motor only moves in one direction and the linkage takes care of the back and forth by being offset. If thats the case i will probally just run a toggle switch to the motor for the fastest setting and call it good.

LOL, you're alternator is likely fine. I was thinking you had this problem a day or two...not a year
I would guess mechanical interference of some kind...stick, dirt, something bent, etc I'd think if it was a motor or electric switch that it'd be burned out or just quit by now. But strange things happen.

But, I know its not something mechanically stuck, bent or bound, because they moved very easy when i swapped out the motor. Also the new motor worked fine for like 2 days (long enough to pass inspection) so after that i really didn't care but... i hate no wipers in the winter.
