Filled the truck up with fresh gas yesterday and went to the parts store. Bought a can of Freon, wiper blades and some motorcraft spark plugs. A/c is working again for now, and thank goodness I bought wiper blades because it rained on the way back home. Took a plug out and it looked pretty bad. Unfortunately they sold me the wrong plugs they are way to long. I stuck the old one back in and drove it to work this morning. It starts and cold idles much better with the fresh gas. Maybe I'm spoiled with my mustang and expecting way to much out of this truck, but it still feels down on power to me. I'll hold off on any real judgement until it's tuned up. I'm going to try and find some time this weekend to clean up under the hood.
Yeah, I don't think I'm getting anywhere near that, especially with this heat and humidity. I'm going to also check to see if the throttle is opening all the way up. Seems like I really have to bury my foot in it hard to get it to go down and grab 1st or 2nd. Then again, it's been a long while since I've had an old 4 speed automatic as well.
I'm with Brad. Comparing a new Mustang to a 25 year old pickup is an apples to bricks comparison. It's quick for what it is and for its time. A new stock F-150 will outrun high end sports cars from 25 years ago.
Never compared it to my mustang. Just said I was spoiled by it. I know they aren't even comparable.
I honestly think I may end up having to put some injectors in it. When I went out to start it after work Friday, it had a hard time firing off. Then jerked and bucked all over for about 30 seconds. Then cleared up and ran fine. It had started and ran just fine that morning. I dumped a can of injector cleaner in a half tank of fuel yesterday. I'll run a couple more tanks of hi test through it and do a full tune up before I really worry about it. No check engine light. I'll use a code reader on it to check for any stored codes if I can find that old thing.

Sorry. I missed your first comment and misunderstood. You didn't need me to tell you that.
If you are concerned about the injectors, you might check out a service like WitchHunter Performance to have them cleaned and flow tested. I'm about to send them the injectors from my '95 351w.
I finally got around to replacing the plugs, fixing the drivers side window motor and a very quick cleaning under the hood. Truck starts really good now, as long as you let the pump prime. If you don't let it prime, it will have to turn over a few seconds before it fires off. But it idles great and the power seems to be where it's suppose to be. I recorded a 0-60+ run.
The computer we sourced for it a few years back happen to have a jet chip installed on it. I thought it was right in the 7 second range. But I also figured it was pretty good with the temp being in the mid 80's.
