Allow me to preface this by saying that I am a Cummins guy and that is what my knowledge and experience is based off. Over the summer I found a 2wd 93 ext cab 7.3 auto. It is a second owner vehicle with 160k. The first 150k was put on by an elderly couple who moved there fifth wheel around the nation then donated it to a summer camp. This is a nearly rust free truck(so a find in minnesnowda) but has a few issues. 1 dual fender is broke, the power steering pump whines, fuel gauge is unhooked or broken, the box was splayed out by a large round bale causing the tailgate to be tricky, and from the reading I've done, it needs glow plugs and battery cables because it won't start without brake clean. Other than that this truck is nearly flawless. The camp is no longer using it and it has spent the last 2 years parked in their tree row. They have planned to sell it for scrap when the find time to. So is it worth saving, and how much is it worth if it's running right? Thanks for your input.
I would say a rust free truck with a good engine and a few mechanical issues is definitely worth saving. The question is what it will cost you to sort out all of the issues. I looked for over a year for my F250 and ultimately ended up flying out of state and driving it back. I've noticed many of the trucks being listed for sale are just barely running junk with owners that have abused them.

also the OP truck has some tuff issues... fuel gauge not working means Fuel tank/system work at the least parked in Tree Row for couple years, often means Rats have nested in the engine compartment and they love wiring, Glow plugs are a non issue but Lord knows how much Brake Clean has been run thru it.... sprung Bed can be fun.
a sitting truck is asking for seal leaks too, most likely worth saving IF the price is right and that is what a buyer wants.... the tires are most likely out of date too.
I doubt you could get a CarFax on it and actually Trace maintenance Records.
