I have a '19 F-350 without the LED headlights. I would like to put LED bulbs in, but I ordered some from amazon and installed and there is a black bulb protector shield within the headlight housing that makes it so that my new LED bulbs will not reflect the light appropriately....making it close to impossible to drive at night. Any suggestions? Thanks

The best thing for you to do is to purchase a higher quality halogen bulb for your halogen fixtures.
Halogen fixtures are "NOT" designed for LED bulbs.
If you really want LED headlights, the best option is to save up or purchase the OEM LED headlights or what some SD owners have done, purchase the replacement LED headlights from Morimoto but the satisfaction rate on these are not the best and that’s based on owners complaints which you can read about on this forum.
IMO,
I would stay away from ANYTHING halogen. All supposed halogen upgrades suck.
Halogen was a great upgrade in 1975. I give them a couple more years of awful OEM light output and we’ll never see halogen headlights on cars and trucks ever again.
Personally, and I think most will agree, invest in a set of quality 6000K HID for all four lights. Maybe even better than LED.
Make sure the led lights you already purchased are installed in the correct orientation first - flat sides should be facing left and right at 3 and 9 oclock
Were they plug and play ?what year truck did you install them on ? I see some reviews that the high and low beam were backwards, and needing to use a resistor to fix this any info?

How can you say all upgraded halogen bulbs suck?
Have you tried all of them?
I doubt it.
that makes sense. maybe ill go that direction if i cant figure this out.
I was the first here with Beamtech in December 2017. Still have them and will switch them over to the new 2019 I'll be getting this week. Even though you have another brand I have a suggestion. When installed, make sure the LED chips are facing exactly to the 3 o'clock and 9 o'clock positions. Anything else will throw your pattern off.
As far as those telling you not to put LED into your halogen housings, I will only say that I disagree and have been happy with my results. Other than that I refuse to argue about it on an internet forum.

Many of us don't want or need the thousands of dollars in upgrades that Ford strong arms you into getting just to get LED headlights. It should be a stand alone option.
