Well I went last week and picked up my new truck. I wanted another regular cab SD and the wife thought we needed a crew so we compromised with a Supercab short box. More or less the same wheelbase as my old regular cab but room for our boy in the back seat.
It’s a 2019, 6.2, 3:73s 4x4 F250. My dad brought my wife up to work and picked me up and we all went on to the dealer. I drove it back the 25 miles to work and then hopped in my old 02 F350 single wheel 4x4 with the 5.4/6sp. Let the Mrs drive the new one on to the house. Holy smokes the new one makes driving the 02 feel like driving the old 67 Chevy 5ton we haul grain with during harvest! Night and day difference in power, handling, and ride. What a step forward these new rigs are.
Thinking I’ll stick the black Fuel Revolver 18s off my 02 on it, hopefully black will be a good looking contrast against Race Red. I had the dealer remove the steps as I didn’t care for how big and low they were, may have to find a good looking set that’s a little tighter fit to the body for people who aren’t 6’4” like me that may need to ride. Other than that I don’t have any plans for it, I’m pretty impressed and pretty happy with it for now.
nice ride-
search F150 running board mod. this raises the stock boards to just under the rockers for a sleaker look with new brackets off the 150's
This. There was a guy over in the f150 forum that was wanting to trade his 150 brackets for a set of 250 brackets, don't know if he found any takers yet. Even if you have to buy the brackets it's would stop be cheaper than a whole new set of boards. I ordered my truck without boards and bought a set of take off 150 boards from eBay for $265.
As for the wheels, the wheels on your '02 might not work. The '17+ trucks have a larger rear hub and the older wheels might not have a hole large enough to fit over it. Plus going from wheels designed to work with a leaf spring suspension to one with coils might change things.

What do you mean when you say a larger rear gun? Also not sure what would be different about wheels for leaf versus coil sprung suspension, the 2019 has leaves in the rear.

Stupid spell check on my phone, I meant to say larger rear hub. The rear has springs but the front has coils. The wheels have different backspacing on the two versions. You can interchange the wheels the one way but not the other but I can't remember which way you can go. Also, if you're wheels aren't at least 17" they will not work on The newer trucks because the brakes are too big.
