Well, it's truthful

Hi,
Actually got this caller ID from somebody. My guess is that it's some kid that got hold of a phone spoofer. hj

That's hilarious. Better than getting the ones that say the local hospital or something that makes you wonder.

I still have a land line too---just can't seem to give it up after all these years. Even though I'd NOT answered any incoming calls in over 15 years---despite quite a few times its been ringing---I never have to worry about SPAM or fake calls.

Now the cell phone is another story---get maybe one call a day with a special offer I'm foolish to let pass by. I'm getting better determining which to take and which to ingore---almost never do the suspect callers leave a voice mail.

I've had the same land-line number for nearly 40 years and every account, address, contact, etc. knows me by that number. I've moved twice in the last 40 years and though my mail sometimes gets snarled up, they can always reach me by the land-line number.

I refer to it as a "land-line number" because I converted it to VOIP a couple of years ago. A hard line was costing close to $600/yr. VOIP was a one-time payment of $120 for the equipment, and a couple of bucks a month because you gotta pay the Federal taxes even if you don't have a hard line. No matter. I also "upgraded" to let them manage SPAM and fake calls so my bill is now $5/month.

yepper... been with MagicJack since 2007 I always get the 5 year plan for 100 bux. In all this time I have never had any issues with them, I can't say the same for the ISP's I've had to deal with .... it's only been the past few years that we started getting a few SPAM calls but they are all taken care of now

still have my original Number from 1977

I tried MagicJack nearly 15 years ago. I don't remember what, but something turned out to be a PITA so I threw the thing in a drawer and forgot about it before every successfully installing it. Finally went with OOMA and have nothing but good things to say about them.

2007 was their first Release. I have 2 of the original Units and they still work fine today .. 1 of the units I just use for Mobile calling in my Camper....
since OOMA wasn't available until 2009 I never had the choice to use it at the time.
