Still having starter issues. Ive tried too many things to list. But my lastest idea is i believe the ring gear may have moved on the flywheel due to contact pattern on starter teeth and well running out of other ideas.
Im hoping one of you can measure your flywheel for me so i can compare it to mine.
The measurement i need is from the engine plate (plate between bell housing and block) face to the face of the ring gear. I used a caliper for this for better results i got roughly 1.0095"
I also measure the throw of the starter from the mounting flange to where the gear is once thrown out and got .87xxx" of throw leaving me with .13xxx" of engagement. This is only letting me contact the chamfered edge of the tooth not even letting the starter bite.
In some sense im hoping one of you gets a different result.
