My amazing brother is about to buy his 14th Ford truck. Here's the problem.....He's got a SS ladder rack on his current F350.
He knows the 2019 cab height is higher than his 2003 (750,000 miles, seriously.) and hears the cab height of the 2020 is higher yet.
I'll use a word like "upfitting" to pretend I know what I'm talking about, because I don't.
Bottom line is he'd like to keep his ladder rack because they're not cheap, but needs to know the top bed rail dimensions...WxL and the distance from the top of the bed to the top of the cab lights for both the 2019 and the 2020.
Any help? Is there somewhere to look that would have spec dimensions?
2019 and 2020 trucks are virtually identical. No change to the body. I got 26" to the top of the cab. Add 1" for the cab lights and 2 1/2" for the shark fin antenna, if equipped.
Sorry I dont have any actual dimensions for you at the moment, but the hight from bed rail to cab being different for 2020 I hadn't heard of. Are you sure about that? If I get a chance, I will go take a measurement on my 19, although Im sure the exact dimensions are out there somewhere.
My brother swears he saw that the 2020 would be taller, on the Ford website might be wrong, totally possible.
But I do that you so much for the info. He's a happy camper because his rack will fit at least the 2019.
Not at all interested in buying the same real estate twice, know what I mean?
I hope you enjoy your weekend.
Best,
@llison
I can assure you that the exterior changes are only to the grille and tailgate. Everything in between is staying the same. It's just a typical refresh. If his rack fits a '19, it will fit a '20.

They are lowering the 2020. So the info he got was backwards.
750k miles on a gas or diesel? Good job taking care of his truck.
Gas. Amazing, eh? Actually, he’s one of those insanely talented people who can do anything. He was a mechanic for years, then a general contractor. So if it has parts, he can build it or fix it. I clearly think very highly of my 53yo little brother.
