Recently my son was using my 2011 F350 and the battery warning light came on for about 3 seconds , that was a week ago, the warning has not returned yet.
so i checked , voltage truck off 12.8volts truck running 14.3v . The batteries are only 2 years old. I'm at a loss , the only thing I can think of is the alternator is going bad .
Thanks in advance .
Loose wire maybe? Check battery and alternator connections for tightness and being clean.
I don’t think alternators start going bad (ie: good some days and not working good others). I may be wrong, but I think it’s good until it goes bad and then doesn’t return to being good on its own
I would suspect that the alternator is having an issue too. I don't think I would just change it though.
To ensure that is all it is, did you check the terminals for each battery and check as best you can, the wiring on the alternator?
When it happens, if it happens, change the belt at the same time.
