As the title says... when I’m parked and I move the steering wheel back and forth maybe 1/4 turn or less each way I get a clunking sound. I also have a “suspension” rattle on any gravel road, even when driving slow. This rattle seems like it’s coming from the front drivers side. I’ve taken the truck to two different suspension shops about the “gravel road” issue with no luck. I hadn’t even thought to say anything about the stationary issue.
Has any had had this issue or any clue what it could be?
Truck is sitting on 37s with a carli leveling kit.
Truck currently has stock steering stabilizer. I have a Fox ats sitting here to install. I just tried the 2 person approach and it seems like there is tons of play in the gear box
It’s actually really hard to tell if it’s the gearbox or above it...
We need a video, it could be anything honestly. The tone and force of said clunk would indicate if it's in the intermediate steering shaft OR if it is on the powered side of the steering.
Attached are 2 videos. The first is showing how little we are moving the wheel and the second is for the audio. This is with the engine off but the key in the ON position.
Mine did the same thing after my leveling kit and track bar drop bracket was installed. Sorry because its been a few years but I believe one of the bolts on the track bar has to be ridiculously tight, like 450 ft lbs, I’m sure someone will correct me... Once they got that re-torqued it was fine.

I had the same problem when I first bought my truck. It kept getting worse until I had a horrible death wobble and had to pull over.. It ended up my drag link nut came loose once I tightened it all was good.
Sounds like one of the ball joints. Did you put your hind on them as someone does steering wheel back and forth quickly?
Your videos didnt load for me.
Yeah I did. The sound seems to be coming from somewhere between the pitman arm and the intermediate steering shaft.
I've been dealing with this so long that I cannot remember what a "good" truck feels like. When I do these small maybe 1" side to side movement with the steering wheel should the truck rock back and forth too?
