2011 F250 6.2 FTP sensor code P0451
Third time replacing this sensor since new. All FOMOCO parts.
This time I'm replacing it. Last two I had the shop do.
IS IT located in the canister above the spare tire on driverside?
I see a 90* rubber elbow connected to the corrugated (vent) line and a sensor next to it?
That vent line is clear. Disconnected that and blew it out. No mud dobbers or debris came out.
.Anyone had any luck with cleaning this POS? If so how? MAF, brake cleaner, gun powder?
The ME/EE engineer in me is curious as to what could be the root cause of these known repeated failures? Besides junk parts? 20K miles on this one.
I did an extensive search on this search feature (somewhat useless)...zero luck. same with the Googler. Seems to be an exclusive FOMOCO part.
Thanks in advance for any help.
This problem is P0451 code, the vapor sensor. It's in the fuel line assemblies, apparently. $361 part as it comes with a bunch of other items.
Looks like a major PITA = expensive at 100/hr from the Henry stealership.
Poked around for loose connections or other obvious problems. It all looked good.
Disconnected the battery for a min. Hooked back up. Code gone, CEL out....for now. Prayer sent to the Ford gods.
I have an exploded view of said system which I will upload when I'm not at work...firewall squeaky tight and won't allow any extracurricular activities.
