My niece blew out my 97's Expd (EB) subwoofer -- 8", 8 bolt hole pattern. I am having a heck of a time finding a replacement.
Any suggestions?
Also, my 6 pack CD player often does not load a cd correctly. I have to insert the cartridge a few times to get it load properly. Anyone seen that? Got a fix for it?
Try using a cd cleaner. The changer could just be getting worn out. What are the specs of that sub? What are you having trouble with, finding an 8 bolt pattern sub or matching the specs?
It is the eight hole bolt pattern that is the problem; I really do not want to go back to Ford to buy the OEM replacement.
As to the CD player, I have tried cleaning. Guess it is just wearing out. Started when someone 'slammed' the cartridge in; has not been the same since.
Than something is bent where the cartridge used to sit and now is allowing the cartridge to go past the normal spot.
If you can match the specs of the sub just drill new holes into the sub enclosure that match the new sub. You can use T nut on the inside of the enclosure to hold the sub in place. You will probly need to glue them into position so they don't fall out while threading the screws in. You can find T nuts at Home Cheapo. Here is a link that shows what they look like. http://www.partsexpress.com/webpage....05584&desc=ASC
Because the encloser is plastic i would recomend the T nut for the inside.
