I own a 2014 F150 4X2 with 30,800 miles. About 3 weeks ago it started vibrating at 50 mph, easing off at around 67 mph. This didn't come on gradually but just started one day. The worn down tires were replaced with new and a 4 wheel alignment was done as well. The shaking was slightly better but still very noticeable. Took the truck to the dealer, the truck was test driven and then examined by a tech. Now I'm told I need a transmission mount and a new drive shaft. These parts alone total nearly $1200. Does this sound right? Again, this truck has under 31,000 miles on it.
New transmission mount under $100
New driveshaft around $300-$400
You need to put your truck on a lift and examine the driveshaft and mount and figure out which it needs.
Sounds like the dealer is high especially for something that you can do yourself.
As the previous poster has indicated it sounds like some type of recent damage and not wear.
