Bizarre 4WD problem 2011 F250
2011 F250 4WD. When the key is switched on with the engine NOT running, the 4WD works perfect. It shifts in and out no problem. When the truck is cranked and the engine running the 4WD does nothing. No dash lights no sounds. Nothing at all. Someone please help. I’ve been fighting with this for like a year.

It seems to stay in 4x4 but the lights go off and don’t say 4x4 anymore. So it looks like it’s in 2wd but feels like it is still engaged when you try to drive and nothing happens when you turn the switch. Then you have to cut the engine off to shift out of 4WD.

I tried a new switch and still the same problem. I’ve checked the relays and fuses and they are all good too.

I don’t know. I wish I could find it and it be something simple.
