I used to have a boss, who while addressing a mistake you made (sometimes repeatedly) would always try to add positive reinforcement to his criticism. One of his favorites was "You screw up a lot... but at least you're slow and we can recover from it!!" This little brake line project only took about 3/4 of a day total. In my defense, it does get a little more tricky under the cab !!! I ain't no good bender person... I tend to think backwards mostly. I refuse to show my scrap pipe.
Nice job John...looks very professional!
What I used to tell my employees when they screwed up..."everybody has to do what they're good at". They always heard "I'm good at this" and it wasn't until the next day that they figured out that the "this" was "screwing up"...by then they could laugh at it all.
Bending brake lines can be very frustrating. I can't tell you how many times I ended up with the nut in the wrong place (behind a bend) or sitting on the bench after you did the flare....ugh.
On the other hand, when it all comes out how you planned it really is rewarding.
Bobby... yea, frustrating is one word. I try to plan my bend, check it against my wire pattern, walk back to the truck and check the pattern again, then back to the bench and bend it 180 degrees from where it should be. It's a talent... I'm blessed with it !!
You could easily have paid someone to do that for you, but you wanted to learn and do it yourself. It looks great to me, if that's worth anything at all. If you'd paid someone to do it, you'd think it looks fine too. It's rare that even a professional job is 100% perfect. Good job!
Wow. That does look amazing. That’s a better job then what you would pay someone to do. If you went to a shop. They would just used flex hose LOL
i re did the complete truck last year. And yaaaa very frustrating Specially when you put in the wrong nut or fitting or forget to put one in before you bend LOL
