Scooter time

As a guy who has ridden everywhere on his motorcycles I have the urge to add a small 80cc scooter to my truck camper travels. I have found that once the camper is parked I am hoofing it everywhere if I don't have the car trailer and FJ40 along.
Taking it along would be no problem when I'm towing the car trailer but how to transport without the trailer may be challenging.
The scooter will be 170-180 pounds. Has anyone welded up a tray to carry it behind the camper?

Haven't done it, but easy enough to find pictures on the Internet of truck camper owners who have.

I guess it would depend more on how much weight you already have hanging how far off the back. We really like the Honda Groms rather than scooters, but they are likely too heavy to hang off the back so we are considering ways to haul them. Bikes, generator, too many things we want to take along.

I have a Black Widow motorcycle carrier that I use to transport a Yamaha Zuma 125 behind my Ranger and the Wrangler. Stay away from the aluminum models to transport a scooter as almost all of the weight is on the rear end of the bike. This has worked for me on 700 mile trips to take the scooter to my daughter at school.

I found a low mile Honda Elite 80. It seems to be a nice lightweight 4 stroke scooter. Tiny compared to my BMW or even my KLR.
I appreciate all the suggestions and now I will figure out exactly where I will mount it.
