SYNC text alert volume

I just bought a 2019 F-250 Lariat and the SYNC text alert is almost deafening. Does anyone know how to lower the volume an that alert? Thanks

Have you tried turning the volume down when the alert is sounding.

In order to adjust the volume, the alert has to be sounding. Otherwise it is not engaged much like trying to adjust your radio volume.

On a road trip we just figured out how to adjust the alert volume. You want to adjust the “prompt volume”. Hold down “VOL—“ on your steering wheel. Keep holding down. Have someone send a text. As soon as the text alert sounds the volume should adjust down. It took sending numerous texts for my husband to get volume right. Note adjusting the volume of the alert also adjusts the volume of the text message when its read aloud (or “hear message” is selected). Hope that helps!!!

As mentioned above, have your thumb on the volume down and as soon as the text message starts talking, turn it down. Sometimes you have to be quick. You can also adjust it anytime Sync (or Siri if you have an iPhone and hold the button down) is talking.
