2011 Edge Key Starting Issue

Could well be time for a new key . The key probably has some kind of security electronics inside. Some part may have failed so that it draws too much current and rapidly discharges the battery. (assuming tht this is happening fairly often). Battery goes down and the security stuff doesn't respond. You could check the old batteries to see if that's the case.
When you price new keys (locksmiths are supposed to be cheaper than the dealer), you might think of buying a lot of batteries and just living with it
. Seriously, something else will probably go wrong soon and it will quit altogether.
