Since you guys instantly found the lower SS switch panel, I figured it's been 6 months, maybe someone knows where the chrome instrument bezel may be hiding.
If you want chrome and white, you will have to have the entire panel chromed and then scuff/sandblast the area you want painted. The perimeter is not removable.
Not familiar with the earlier model clusters but it appears from the diagram Bill (ND) posted the gauges possibly secured to the panel from the back, perhaps by screws and then the gauges can be removed from the front. If anything like the 65/66 cluster the bezel is secured to the gauge by 'dog ear' tabs; if so, need to be careful they break easily.
There's a little 'C' shaped bracket that holds the gauge in place. I think I have one of those gauges with the brackets, stuck up on the shelf somewhere. The bracket is pretty strong. Don't think anything is going to break off. But than again,,,,,, there are gorillas out there.
😆
If similar to my 65 cluster the bezel can be removed from the face of the gauge by gently prying the tabs back. as like the tabs on the fender emblems the tabs are prone to break; if so, imagine some type of contact cement would work?
Where did you find that tach and vacuum gauge if you don't mind me asking? I really like that look.
The vacuum gauge I took out of a 67 f600 I owned years ago, I just bought the tach a year or so ago for THIS PROJECT. When I get home tomorrow I'll see If I can find where I bought it. I think I have the link in my computer at home.
PS. If I recall correctly the vacuum gauge came on large trucks with power brake boosters on the frame. Probably wouldn't be too hard to find since not many people restore the big trucks.

Thanks for the info. Yours is the second one I've seen with those in the dash and I have been searching only to come up empty. I did find a vintage tach, but it is mechanical. Are they all mechanical and how hard would that be to integrate in?

Yes, all of those tachs are mechanical. You would need a distributor with a tach drive and the cable. The FT engines may have used a larger oil pump drive shaft, so you might not be able to just swap one in, but there were FE distributors with a mechanical tach drive, or you could send out the FT distributor to be rebuilt with an FE shaft by pressing in new bushings. The distributors come up on ebay all the time, but I rarely see the cables.
